Residential painting scope

Painting Services for Homes and Renovations

The final scope should identify the surfaces and preparation required for the specific property rather than assume fixed package inclusions.

01

Interior Wall Painting

Plan painting for the agreed interior wall areas according to the property and requested scope.

02

Ceiling Painting

Include ceiling areas where required and clearly identified within the painting quotation.

03

Whole House Repainting

Coordinate walls, ceilings and selected additional surfaces across the rooms stated in the quotation.

04

HDB Painting

Plan repainting for suitable HDB living, dining, bedroom, ceiling and other agreed interior areas.

05

Condo Painting

Review access, protection, occupancy and existing surface conditions for condo and apartment painting.

06

Surface Preparation

Confirm cleaning, scraping, minor patching, sanding or stain preparation according to visible conditions.

07

Primer or Sealer

Include a suitable primer or sealer where the reviewed surface and agreed paint system require it.

08

Frames & Exposed Pipes

Paint selected door frames or exposed pipes only when those surfaces are included in the quotation.

Walls and ceilings

Preparation Comes Before the Final Coat

Wall and ceiling painting should begin with a review of the existing paint, hairline cracks, stains, peeling areas and other visible defects. Cleaning, scraping loose paint, minor patching and sanding may be needed before repainting.

The quotation should also confirm whether primer or sealer is required, the planned number of coats, paint finish and colour selection. Major repairs, plastering or skim coating are separate unless specifically included.

Residential properties

HDB, Condo and House Painting

Each property needs a scope based on its rooms, occupancy, access and existing surface condition.

HDB Painting Services

Painting can cover living and dining areas, bedrooms, ceilings, suitable kitchen wall areas and selected door frames where included. The quotation should state the exact rooms and surfaces.

Condo & Apartment Painting

Condo painting planning should account for access, furniture protection, an occupied or vacant unit, colour changes and coordination with building or renovation arrangements.

Landed Residential Painting

For landed homes, floor area, ceiling height, access and the condition of each interior surface can materially change the preparation and painting scope.

Surface preparation

Match the Paint System to the Surface

Depending on site condition, preparation may include cleaning, scraping loose paint, sanding, minor patching, treating visible stains and repairing small surface defects. Fresh plaster, powdery surfaces, stains, major colour changes or previously problematic surfaces may call for a suitable primer or sealer.

The existing RenoExpert packages reference Nippon Paint systems and an oil-based sealer. Product selection still depends on the package and confirmed quotation; this does not imply a brand partnership or that every product applies to every surface.

Mould, dampness and stains

Repainting Does Not Repair a Moisture Source

Normal repainting, surface stain treatment and anti-mould treatment are different from repairing water seepage, plumbing leakage or waterproofing defects. Condensation-related mould may also require ventilation and moisture-control changes.

Painting alone may not permanently solve mould when the underlying moisture source remains. Any leak, seepage or dampness cause should be investigated before the repainting approach is confirmed.

Whole-house repainting

Confirm Every Included Room and Surface

A typical whole-house scope may cover living and dining rooms, bedrooms and ceilings, with selected door frames or exposed pipes where stated. Exact inclusions, colour allowances, preparation, protection and paint products depend on the selected package or project quotation.

Common questions

Painting Services FAQ

How much does house painting cost in Singapore?

Whole-house painting with RenoExpert starts from $790. The final quotation depends on the property size, areas to be painted, existing wall condition, preparation requirements, colour requirements and site condition.

What does the “From $790” price mean?

It is a verified starting-price reference for whole-house painting, not a universal final price. The actual quotation is prepared after the requested scope and site details are reviewed.

What affects a painting quotation?

Relevant factors include property size, the number and size of areas, existing wall condition, required preparation, colour requirements, requested ceiling or additional surfaces and the renovation or site condition.

Can painting be included with a full house renovation?

Yes. Painting can be discussed and coordinated as part of the agreed full-house renovation and finishing scope.

Can you paint an existing occupied home?

Existing-home repainting can be discussed. The areas, access, current wall condition and practical site requirements need to be reviewed before the scope is confirmed.

How can I request an accurate painting quotation?

Send the property type, approximate areas to paint, photos of the existing walls and any renovation requirements through WhatsApp for an initial review.

How long does it take to paint an HDB flat?

The schedule depends on flat size, whether the unit is occupied, surface preparation, paint system, colours and the areas included. Timing can be discussed after the scope is reviewed.

Do I need primer before repainting?

Not every repaint requires primer. It may be recommended for fresh plaster, powdery or stained surfaces, major colour changes or previously problematic areas after assessment.

Can painting remove mould permanently?

Paint alone may not permanently solve mould when leakage, seepage, condensation or another moisture source remains. The cause should be identified and addressed before a suitable treatment and repainting approach is confirmed.
